Looking at Grandma

Got a chance to visit my daughter and her family. Here we are at lunch and my great-granddaughter is taking a look at her grandmother (my daughter) while my oldest granddaughter (the little one's mother) tries to hold her first child and eat lunch at the same time. Only a mom can do this right!

Then I got to thinking about all the family opportunities that I did not pay attention to as my kids were growing up. My oldest (the woman on the left in the above image) was about eight years old when I got bit by the photo bug. I thought I could make money with photography and spent my time trying to produce images that I thought would sell. While I did eventually become a news photographer for a small weekly, I can't help but think of all the images that I missed when my kids were kids. Especially since my oldest son died in a car accident in 1991. Moral: don't just shoot what you think will make money but shoot for the memories that photos can provide!
As always, make a comment!! Let me know what you think! Until next time, keep on shooting...
