FULLY LOADED!

Taken from a cruise late this year with a Fuji X100S. Even carrying a fully loaded tray of goodies, this young lady had a smile on her face. The lady walking away was one of the main dining room hostesses named Daria. She did a great job making us feel like we were special throughout the cruise. After her contract on the Magic ends and she takes a little time off, she will be on the Carnival Spirit out of Australia in 2017.

The Baker and The Angels

Just a simple shot of my wife preparing a batch of rolo cookies (a chocolate cookie with a rolo candy (chocolate and caramel) in the center) with the collection of angels she has accrued over the years. The angel on the right was made by our second oldest granddaughter who is a very accomplished artist.

Title says it all. Shot with a Nikon D2H and Tokina 2,8/80-200mm ATX back in 2008.

Summer longing

Winter has not "officially" started in the Northern Hemisphere yet (another week to go) but I am already tired of the colder temps. This image is from roughly three years ago at the outside sitting of a local Mexican restaurant in the town square. Just a normal day on the square with folks having lunch and enjoying the mild weather.

Backstage

Decided to look through a few past photos to see if anything I have kept catches my eye. I happened on this shot from 2011 of the Northwest Florida Ballet's performance in Rosemary Beach, something the company has been doing for years along County Road 30A. This image caught my eye for several reasons.
I wonder what the two girls at the tree at doing. I don't remember but that is where the focus point is and was probably what got me to hit the shutter. But as I look at the image today, shot with a Nikon D2H and a 1,8/35mm DX Nikkor lens, I also pick up on the girl in the backgound that has spotted me, the group of three on the ground and the posture of the girl on the left side adjusting her hair as she moves through the frame. All of these elements along with the off-balance composition play together well in my eyes. I will probably print this image for my own gratification.

Mom always gets the last word!

Was trying to come up with a funny title and this pop to mind! As my wife said, "if only this was true!"
